Maine Summer Fun for Samoset's Youngest Guests
Looking for something fun for the children in your family to do while staying at the Samoset? Stop by the Health Club to sign them up for the Sam-O-Camp for children ages 5-11. In July and August, Sam-O-Camp meets Monday thru Saturday from 9 AM to 12 PM and 5 nights a week from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Sam-O-Camp takes advantage of everything the Samoset Resort has to offer as well as engages children with planned activities such as tie-dye shirt making, treasure hunts, scavenger hunts, nature walks, face painting, children's cooking classes with a behind the scenes tour of the kitchen, lobstering in Maine presentation with live sea creatures and much more.

Registering For Camp
Prior registration is required to allow for appropriate staffing. Please register with the Health Club Desk by 6 p.m. the evening before camp. Call extension 545 from within the Resort and 207-593-1545 from outside the Resort. You may charge any activity fee to your room at the time of registration. There must be at least two children registered for Sam-O-Camp, in order for camp to take place.
Canceling
Should you need to cancel your child’s registration, a two-hour notice of cancellation is required.
Activities
Activities may include, but are not limited to, interactive games such as TV tag, relay races, crafts, board games, swimming, playground fun, story time and singing, nature walks where children will learn about Penobscot Bay and the Breakwater Lighthouse. All activities will be age appropriate and will be weather dependant. Water safety will be strongly emphasized.
Playground
Playground with volleyball, tennis , shuffle board, and basketball court is located to the right upon entering the Samoset Resort.
What to Bring to Camp
As you plan for your day at camp, please use the checklist below to pack the necessary items for the day.
- Bathing suit (towels are provided)
- Hat
- Sunscreen
- An extra set of comfortable play clothes
- Water Bottle
- Any medications or other medical treatments. Please include instructions for administration. (Must be discussed with Hospitality Events Coordinator or SKC Supervisor prior to registration.)
Please Be Advised
- Parents/Guardians must remain on Samoset Resort property while their children are attending either SC or child care.
- A cell phone or pager number should be provided whenever possible.
