It has been nearly two weeks since the opening of our season here at the Samoset, the excitement and anticipation continues with our ongoing renovations and our early guests.
This week, we are hosting the Maine HR Conference, bringing together over 800 HR professionals. This annual conference provides seminars and training for large corporations and small businesses located throughout our state.
In the last couple of weeks, we have stayed busy by welcoming back the Maine Principals Association, the Maine Chiropractors Association and the Maine Society of Radiologic Technologist.
New floor to ceiling windows have been added near the guest registration area overlooking Penobscot Bay and the golf course. Doors will soon be installed that will lead out to our new observation deck. Our dedicated workers have been braving the winds and weather to continue progress on this new addition, while also constructing the outdoor dining area for La Bella Vita.
New access has been provided to our double-sided fireplace, with the ability to walk completely around the refurbished granite centrepiece. The new furniture arrangement placed on both sides of the fireplace is enticing for morning coffee and a newspaper, or for simple conversation and relaxation with friends and family.
Adjacent to the fireplace is our new Lighthouse boardroom, situated where the old stairwell to Marcel’s and the Breakwater Café was located. Soon to be finished, the view from the newly installed windows provides a fresh perspective on a classic oceanside view, synonymous with our location.
We are also putting the finishing touches on our three new luxury cottages. The cottages are open for the season. The hardwood floors, cherry cabinets, stainless steel appliances and wainscoting all compliment this unique location.
If you’d like to see our progress in person, we have great Spring rates and availability for May and June, including Memorial Day weekend. Our Clubhouse Grille is open for on site dining. La Bella Vita and the new Spa at Samoset will be opening next month.
Warm Regards,
Connie Russell
General Manager
